Coccyx definition in medical terms
Coccyx is the tailbone in humans, the final segment of the vertebral column. Tailbone is also found in apes, and certain other mammals such as horses, dogs, cats, and goats.
The coccyx articulates above the sacrum; and is formed of either three, four or five rudimentary vertebrae.
